Curious Makers Christmas Pop Up Shop

14 December 2013

Last week we took over a gallery just off Stoke Newington Church Street for a special one day event. Featuring no less than thirteen Curious Makers selling their design-led wares we had a great time meeting local shoppers and getting into the festive spirit. Each maker involved has their own original style and items on display ranged from newspapers, prints, bow ties, chandelier jewels, paper cut sculptures, cards, wrapping paper and lots more.  Here are some photos from the day by Lynsey Mackay:

Patch

27 November 2013

Patch is a colourful and playful headline typeface from designer Paul Felton.  Every letter has it's own fabric swatch giving it a unique character.  Mix up the letters to create your own words or simply let one speak for itself.  We are pretty excited to see these patchwork patterns on display at the Curious Makers Pop Up Shop on the 7th December.  They will be available as prints and as greetings cards.

See more on Paul's website here or visit us next week.

Bus Stops

15 October 2013

Julian Cox cycled by push bike from London to Mumbai from 2010 to 2012.  Along the way he documented the bus stops he passed on the road and amassed an incredible collection of typological photographs from many different remote and fascinating places.  The bus stops project reflects the ecelctic cultures and the landscapes he traveled through on his 18,000km journey.

You can see more of the collection here.
